It's notable that a career within the electrical industry, with its attractive options, remains a choice for lots of people. Whilst the original term is 'Electro-Mechanical Engineering' we will simply refer to the subject as the Electrical Industry. Equally we'll focus on those credentials that fit the UK domestic and commercial sector rather than those from around the world. Due to the huge list of opportunities available for a career in the electrical industry, we have to begin by focusing on the main areas and look at the 'add-ons' later on.

On consideration, we observe two forms of access into the electrical market. Along with apprenticeships for school leavers, students entering the field at a later phase in their life now have an alternative to more traditional amateur routes. For the sake of clarity throughout, the first will be known as 'Junior Entrants' and the second simply known as 'Mature Entrants.'

Many Mature Entrants enter the market so they don't have to rely on others, especially when they can work on their own building ideas and not have to pay for anyone else to help them. By contrast, Junior entrants would seek to work with an established electrical firm and build their skill-sets as they train. During their first years in the working environment, a young apprentice, or junior entrant, will have a host of additional skills to learn.

The different ways into electrical work have two distinct types of training: Junior entrants go through NVQ training in England and Wales, and SVQ training in Scotland. The training itself is similar to non NVQ training, but completion of the full programme means getting the actual qualifications. 'Junior Entrants' will have to be in an apprenticeship of some sort in order to achieve the testing and course work required.

Instead of seeking a work-based training environment, the Mature Entrant often seems to focus on working as a self employed person where different qualifications to NVQ's are preferred. In the main the person will aim to gain the best from their investment costs against the return for that training. This method may appear to reduce the levels of knowledge overall, but it does allow for an increase in the speed by which people enter and become more prevalent within the market.

So we have two defined routes laid out - one being for general employment and the other centred on self-employment. For the sake of this document we will assume that everyone involved in electrical employment is working full-time. Certainly, whilst salary levels can be affected by knowledge and qualifications, they can also be affected by competence and aptitude.

Basic salary for Junior Entrants can start at around 12 thousand per annum, often going above 35 thousand after several years in industry. On the other hand experienced self-employed electricians have been known to earn around 70 thousand or more within the UK. However, it should be borne in mind that a self-employed person must meet their own costs for tools, clothes and vehicles (including insurance and petrol.) Self employed people also have to allow for added expenses. With the current skills shortage in the UK, there is a high work load demand available. In light of the above, a full seven day week is available to most people should they want it. To be fair, high salaries bounded about by the press do require long working hours or help to achieve them.

There is often a considerable differential between the working expectations of Mature or Junior Entrants. For a 'Junior Entrant', most work is on a simple working week basis. Whereas the Mature market can be more dependent on the domestic market for some - i.e. weekend and evening work, when their clients are available and back from work. This alters quite a bit, with lots of self employed electricians gaining much of their income from small office work, which is predominantly Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.

If a Junior Electrician chooses an electrical career, then the main business actions of their company often dictate the type of expertise that they gain. But by securing work within the fields of gas or plumbing many mature entrants can gain knowledge outside of their chosen path. Certainly if they are employed within the domestic sector this makes it easier to take on work without having to rely upon other people.

One new, fast growing area - one that invokes a wide array of skills sets and is new to the industry overall - is that of the 'Green Engineer'. The curiosity of both Junior and Mature Electricians to this new industry is well founded especially when considering the power of the UK and the EEC markets in areas of growth and governmental projects. - 28646

What is possible is to learn to be efficient and flexible. You need to understand about the 'sacrifices' you have committed to. It is not necessarily so, but it is really about better time management.

By being efficient, you can think of bringing your text book or small notes during commuting and read them while waiting, or focusing on one work at a time so that it finishes right at the time and you can move on to the next task. If you know the schedule is strict, then get prepared for the day. By being flexible, you can think of doing what you like and need to do in unplanned but still controllable manners. You have to let go some things, for sure. But they can be offset pretty well if you love what you do and try to be flexible. Part time is not killing you.

3. Keep your body fit. Eat good food, do enough exercise, and take enough sleep at night. Now it starts to sound like health tips. But this is just the general rules of long term health we all need to know. What is worrying is that students often forget this, especially when they live out of the home. Make sure you maintain enough nutrients intake and exercise routinely. They will keep you fit all day long to do the tasks. Take enough sleep so that you can concentrate and feel energetic until the end of the day. Avoid junk foods, alcohols, other junk drinks like soda, and greasy foods. Think about the words Motorcycle Club! Why is it that when those words are heard together many think Crime or Criminal Organization? Say you are having an event and you are looking for a place to have it. You can have a book club and everyone will welcome you in! A cooking club and everyone really loves you. You say Motorcycle Club and right away its, Sorry we are busy on that day!

Motorcycle Clubs are even turned away from bars where they want to have events by Independent Bikers, Why is that? We need to let the world know that Bikers independent or in a Motorcycle Club can be good people! We can not show people that Motorcycle Club Members are not all bad if we are not allowed in a Bar because we are wearing Colors, Its the same thing if you are an independent biker and some one will not let you in some sports bar because you are wearing a leather jacket! I hope when an independent Biker who has turned away Motorcycle Clubs from his bar and is then turned away from a bar he wants to go in Understands the irony!

Some Motorcycle Clubs have even gone so far as to changed their name, they call themselves Riding Clubs, Motorcycle associations or some other type of group so they can leave out the words Motorcycle Club! and try to avoid the problems that come with being part of a Motorcycle Club! They say they are different from a Motorcycle Club ! They look and dress and act just like a motorcycle Club but they just call themselves something different! I say a rose by any other name !!!

These Clubs are just trying to get around all the prejudice associated with the words Motorcycle Club ! They are not part of the solution but are part of the problem! This is America and You can call your Club what ever you want, But the thing that unites you and your Club is the same thing that unites all who Ride! It is the Motorcycle! How can anyone leave out the word Motorcycle? It is the heart of what you are!

Lodging comes in three different tiers and each one of them is meant to service a specific market.

The lowest level of amenities will be received at extended stay properties. These are properties that are strictly meant for longer stays that will not cost as much money as any other type of hotel or motel. The reason the rates are so low is because they do not usually offer the types of amenities that people would generally expect from a hotel.

It is a rare extended stay property that will have a rate anywhere near $100/night. The longer the guest is staying, the more likely that the rate will be lower. For this generous rate, they get very little other than a bed and a parking spot. There will usually be laundry facilities of some type and maid service will be very limited.

One step up would be considered limited service properties. These are properties like the Garden Inn or Days Inn. Room rates are a little higher, but there is not much more in the way of the typical hotel amenities. Owners of these properties make some of the highest profits in the industry so you can expect them to be clean, but they will be run very tight.

Maid service in limited service properties will usually be a daily occurrence, unless they are at the bottom tier of the scale. They may even only offer it on request. While some of them offer meeting rooms and banquet space, it is very limited. There may or may not be a restaurant on property and will probably offer a continental breakfast for their guests.

The hotels with the best hotel facilities are known as full service hotels. For these amenities, the guest can expect to pay considerably more. A nice travel tip is to look for full service hotels that are surrounded by limited service hotels. They will have to drop their rates to stay competitive in their market.

Types of full service hotels would be properties such as Hilton and Marriott. They are typical of full service hotels in that they treat their VIP members like gold. Their highest levels can expect free breakfast, a welcome amenity, honor bar with free hours d' oeuvres and express check ins. These types of properties are generally required to have a full service restaurant, health spa, snack shop along with high end banquet facilities.

If a travel is doing nothing more than sleeping in their room, why waste the money at a full service hotel. A place like the Garden Inn will still offer a free continental and a high level of service. When the guest wants to be pampered, pay the few extra dollars and take advantage of the hotel facilities that are offered. - 28646

One of my clients was recently invited by a recruiter to become a friend on Facebook. The client had a hope to keep her Facebook personal and use Linkedln for professional contacts. At the same time she also wanted to maintain the relationship with this recruiter and worried that refusing the request might be viewed as a rebuff. One sad issue that permeates the industry is clients who believe that their only option is to give up substantial equity while paying hefty fees to consultants who take your company public.

Here is the reality. When you are investigating the industry to find a consulting firm to work with to facilitate your 'go public' process, the first thing you need to do is make sure you are hiring a 'turn-key' solutions consulting group; meaning they need to offer everything soup to nuts in house because the second your consultant outsources anything, accountability is lost.

Next, on the issue of paying fees and also giving up equity, it should be either or, not both. If a company tells you that they want you to pay them in both upfront fees and in equity, you should laugh and walk away. In actuality the best deals for the client are those that are simply fee based, not equity based.

It's better to pay 100k in a few easy installments than to pay millions in stock that will only be liquidated after the IPO which will completely obliterate your stock price and almost certainly ruin your company's chances of success. Your broker dealer should pay for the SEC audit, S-1 filing, SEC approval, FINRA approval, Symbol achievement and ongoing investor relations to keep your stock price solid. Unless your broker dealer is doing all of this, you need to find a new, full service broker.

Keep in mind, each consulting firm you talk to will give you a million reasons as to why their fee structure and process is the best but here are some comparable facts so that you can make the right decision on how to proceed. Many questions on the Interviewing message board have shown some of our readers' problem in getting a search after leaving or losing a job. But according to me it may be useful for us to start a job at the beginning.

If we see the work culture of the new millennium one thing is very clear that nearly all work is now short term, frequently even careers themselves. It is obvious that you have to mould yourself according to the change whether that change suits you or not. If we see the current statistics, which almost all say that the average job is only about three to four years now, a rather dramatic change from 15 years ago when the average was about 10 years.

It will be better if you understand that there will be an emotional roller coaster, most severely during the first few days. This ride will include lots of depression, apathy, denial, anger and then some more anger. One degree or another degree everyone goes through this stage. And I just don't understand that why people don't believe in this thing.

It is not good to call everyone you know and start sending out resumes, answering ads, and calling recruiters. Because most of the times you are not prepared for the start a search after a separation. Don't do a job search "on the rebound". You'll probably say things that you will wish you hadn't. But it is good to share your true feelings about the situation with only a few people- maybe your close friends or your family members. You don't want everyone to avoid you ("Uh oh, here comes the whiner..."). Now is the time to adopt the marketing stance that your career - no matter how you perceive the reality - has been sunshine, light, and success. And you want everyone to know about those successes.

Laugh if you must, but things are getting harder for students these days. While going to university for your parent's generation might have been an exception to the rule, more and more people are expected to apply for entry-level jobs with at least a bachelor's degree. The paradox of this shift from vocational school and life experience to post-secondary education is that more and more students are graduating each year with the same qualifications. So it's entirely possible that you can, in fact, study Russian literature for four years and be qualified only to make coffees or stock books.

And lately, students are too worn out from being stressed since a much earlier age to be able to handle this sort of bombshell of reality. With grade inflation at universities at an all-time high and the freshman year application rates at many world-renowned schools breaking their former record numbers, getting into university isn't what it used to be. School counselors at private institutions start pressuring their children as young as age 12 to be thinking far ahead into the future, with 14 year olds already in training to speak with college representatives and start considering schools for early decision.

This is not to say that students don't require discipline or a look at how much work is required to make it in this world. It's that they should save their time worrying for an occasion where worrying is actually warranted. The problem here, many behavioral experts conclude, is that pressures are starting to mount on children when in reality, there is nothing to worry about yet. This can actually be a lot worse later on, when there are real things to worry about.

And in case anyone has forgotten, there are many real things to worry about. First and foremost on the minds of many young students is debt. Because, you see, to attend university, many students must take out loans, loans that are required to be paid back rather quickly after graduation.

The end of university is often such a busy and bustling time for students, with many papers to complete, thesis to argue, and all sorts of other work, that the notion of loans doesn't even make the cut for things being obsessed about. This leads to a problem especially when coupled with the false notion of optimism that not only a job, but a high-paying job in a chosen field, will present itself immediately after graduation, having done no or little work in a particular field.

During such tough economic times, making the transition to the workforce from the world of studies is even more of a harsh reality check. Especially for students who chose a major that will not immediately get them some sort of work, it is difficult to learn that as special and as gifted as many people might have said you are, the current world of work is not as interested. While it is dangerous to build up student's egos to believe that they will never have to take a "regular" job, it is also important to remember what their worry priorities were while enrolled in university.

As unfortunate as it may be, many students are going to have to grow up faster and faster now that things are in the state that they are in. The only shame is that many students, already burnt out from all of the stress of getting into a good school and staying in that good school, aren't going to have the energy left to handle things like debt and student loans immediately after completing their course of study.

Of course, it is important to remember that just because times are tough, it doesn't mean that nothing can get done. If anything, this generation of students will find a way of putting things in perspective for their children with a sort of clarity and insight that not many generations can offer. It was a Sunday in Summer of 2009 went I first saw Ronky with my own eyes. I had heard stories of Ronky here and there, They had come to me in Whispers really.The History of Ronky has been a well kept secret for Hundreds maybe Thousands of years. I had spent weeks watching this lake in Lake Ronkonkoma on Long Island in New York State. This day I was driving around going past one of the many Parks and Beaches around the lake. While I was going North on Lake Shore Road I saw something in the water out of the corner of my eye, but after weeks of watching this lake I thought it was just someone out on another blow up raft and didn't really think much of it !

As I was passing the Dinning Hall "Windows on the Lake" there is an opening where Guests can get a good look at the lake. I looked over and I saw what I had though to be a raft a few seconds before was the creature. I though to myself this could just be another hoax! After years of searches and hunts leading to nothing but dead ends I was not going to get my hopes up to fast. I slowed down and watched as the Creature swam around the lake enjoying itself! I was a little scared but at the same time I could not stop myself from smiling thinking this was really it!

I drove around the lake following along with "Ronky" at some point I pulled into a parking lot and walked onto one of the beaches. I slowly got my Camera out fearing as soon as I went to take the picture the creature would disappear. I snapped a shot, checked it in the review mode of the Camera and I could not believe I had captured a perfect shot of the Creature that no one could dispute the authenticity of ! When I looked back at the Lake Ronky was gone.

Over the next few days I carefully started asking the locals in the area if they had ever seen something weird in the Lake? It seems that to everyone in Lake Ronkonkoma Ronky is well known. He is not a myth or urban legend here. He is just another Member of the Village! I have been told there are two Differences between Nessie in Scotland's Loch ness and Ronky in New York's Lake Ronkonkoma. One Ronky is real and Two Ronky is protected by the Locals and his name is not defiled for tourist money.

There are many stories of Ronky that go back Hundreds of years. The one I found most interesting was a story that happened about 15 years ago. It seems there was an expedition sent to look into and map the depths and some underwater streams under Lake Ronkonkoma. This expedition never happened. The Official Story given was the expedition ran out of Money and was going to come back when they got more funds. I was told by an old time resident that wishes her Identity to remain a secret that the real story is a group called the "Keepers of the Lake" told the expiation in no uncertain terms it would be in their best interested for them to leave and not come back!!!

The people of Lake Ronkonkoma have kept this Monster Ronky loved and Protected for many years! I respect and sympathize with them,but I have spent my adult life and most of my families fortune searching for a creature like Ronky.This is my job and I must share this with the world. I have received many threats not to print this story! I have posted it here to go out to these newsgroups if I do not reset the settings at least once a week. Some basic rules and preparation will make the difference between you getting that job offer and not.

First of all, don't put your job search on hold for the holidays figuring no one is hiring during this time anyway. You snooze - you lose. Second, use this time to do some research, networking, and most of all preparing in the event that you do receive that unexpected, but hoped for call.

Some Basic Preparation Steps to Take Before The Rush

If you were a sales person and were about to sell a product to a customer you would do some homework or research so that you could convince your customers that your product was the best product on the market to fill their needs. Interviewing for a job is in many ways comparable to a sales person making a sale.

If you apply this scenario to the job interview process you will find that it is a powerful tool to use for your interview preparation. What do you have to offer (as a product), to the customer (the employer)? What do you have that will fill their needs (the requirements of the job)? What can you bring that is unique or added value to the position/company? ( what makes you unique)?

What you have to offer

Let's begin with "what you have to offer." Think of ways to present your key qualities throughout the interview. An example of this technique is when interviewing for a position that requires "strong organizational skills." You will want to let the interviewer know you are not only organized, but that your organizational skills have made a significant difference in your performance. If you can give an example of a particular event that you organized and how your organizational skills made a difference in a past job you will make an even stronger sell. Anyone can say that they have "strong organizational skills," but not everyone can give a specific example of a time when they had a success using those skills.

Don't tell them -"sell them"- with proof of a past experience or success. You must have examples or stories for anything you have claimed on your resume or that you say in an interview.

Let's say you claimed you were very organized on your resume. A natural question for the interviewer would be: "Tell me about a time when you organized a project." It is now your task to let the interviewer know that you have had success when organizing a project or event. In other words, prove what you said you did by providing an example - a story of a time when.

There are several methods and acronyms suggested for formatting your stories but the main point to remember is that any story has three key elements:

A beginning - "There was a time"

A middle - "The action steps I took were"

An Ending - "The end result was"

Stories should be interesting and full of action. Give the interviewer something to remember about you. A savvy interviewer will be able to hear skills from the stories and judge your behavior from your past actions. The more details and skills you can work into your story, the more convincing your story will be.

Preparing your stories before the interview will take the mystique out of behavioral interviewing. It will allow you to tell the success stories you want your interviewer to hear. Through your examples the interviewer will begin to get a clear picture of you. The interviewer will be able to decide whether you are the right person for the job based on your past experience and successes.

Employer's Needs

Next, begin to think about what the employer's needs are and how your product (you) can fill those needs. You can accomplish this by studying the job description or posting.

Read through job postings to find out what your customer (the employer) is looking for - what is the need? By familiarizing yourself with the language of the job posting you will be able to not only read the words and the content, but you will be able to read between the lines.

Here's an exercise that will help you find the "gold" and make good use of it once you discover it.

Look at the job postings and the ads to see what skills, experiences, and traits are in demand for the type of position you are seeking. In fact, look at several job postings that would be of interest to you.

For this exercise, don't limit yourself to geographical location. Look at jobs of interest located anywhere.

Some job postings will be more vague about what it takes to get the job done and will require reading between the lines to determine what other skills are necessary. Your objective is to find key words and phrases. When you have several postings, read each word and sentence carefully, taking notes as you do.

Read the job posting three times.

Read the first time for content.

Read the second time for words - vocabulary. What words appear consistently in almost every posting?

Read the third time and read between the lines - what would it take to get this job done? What are they looking for?

What You Can Bring?

Your next step is to add your uniqueness to the "What I have to offer" list. Some postings will list additional skills required. This will make it easier for you to see what is important to them.

An example would be, "Must have strong organizational skills, excellent communications skills, and be a willing team player."

If these words appear in most of your posting examples, then make sure that these are a part of your focus.

The Fit - What Makes You Unique?

The last factor to prepare for your sale is to let the employer know that you have the ability to "fit in" and be a "team player." The interviewer will be looking to see if you can do the job, but they will also be checking to see if you will be a good addition to the team. Don't dismiss your personal traits in your sales "pitch" preparation. Identify skills that make you unique such as "interpersonal skills," "attitude," and "willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done." These skills could make the difference between yourself and an equally qualified candidate getting the job offer.

When you take the time to prepare for the sale of the product - YOU - you will have a better chance of convincing the customer or buyer that you are just what they are looking for. What will you do to get by? Will you be willing to take a lesser job in order to make ends meet? Will you be willing to work in a completely unrelated field than what your fancy degree qualifies you for? I'm being rhetorical, of course. I know the answer -- you will and you'll like it. After announcing a 5-billion-yuan expansion plan in July, Japanese carmaker Nissan Motor Co is mulling even further expansion in the southern city of Guangzhou to meet the blistering pace of demand for its cars, according to CEO Carlos Ghosn.

Nissan's joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Corp is building a new 240,000-unit plant in Guangzhou that will boost production capacity in the city to 600,000 passenger cars a year by 2012, according to the plan.

Ghosn said 600,000 cars will be enough to meet short-term demand, but insufficient in the long run due to the rapid growth of China's car market. "We see that the China market will continue to grow significantly in the next years - the Chinese government is taking very good measures to stimulate the economy and demand for vehicles."

Nissan will give priority to China for investment and introduction of new products because the country is one of the most important markets for the Japanese carmaker in the mid term for both sales and profits, he added.

Sales of Dongfeng Nissan, the passenger car unit of the joint venture, surged by 52.6 percent year-on-year to 422,460 units in the first 10 months of this year. Inspired by the stronger-than-expected performance, the company has upgraded its 2009 passenger car sales target to 500,000 units from the previous 388,000 units. Ghosn said the passenger car plant in Guangzhou has been a "benchmark" for Nissan's global plants and it will be one of the Japanese carmaker's "biggest, best and busiest" bases.

The joint venture has another passenger car facility in central Hubei province with an annual capacity of 100,000 units. Its current passenger vehicle lineup includes the Teana, Sylphy, Tiida, Livina, Qashqai and Geniss. The joint venture also produces commercial vehicles under the Dongfeng brand.

Last year, it announced a plan for the year of 2012 to move a total of 1 million vehicles, including 600,000 passenger cars and 400,000 commercial vehicles. "We will design cars mainly for China and eventually export to other markets," he said.
